The inaugural Business of Heritage conference was held in 2008 at the National Museum of Singapore. This conference attracted an overwhelming and sold-out response of over 250 participants ranging from curators, private collectors, conservators, content creators and other business-oriented players keen to enter the heritage industry.
Participants were treated to a 7-session conference which provided a myriad of insights on the growth, development and potential of the heritage eco-system at which the key-note speaker was Dr. Seddon Bennington, Chief Executive Officer, Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa.

The inaugural conference also saw the launch of the Heritage Industry Incentive Programme (Hi2P) – a financial assistance scheme targeted at helping develop innovative heritage products and services from the private sector.
Next year’s conference promises to be bigger and better!

“It was an eye-opening event to hear from the various presenters on how they have fulfilled their desire to retain heritage for the next generation, be it from personal or from their corporation's perspectives. The Hi2P fund is such a cool scheme by the Board to promote cultural heritage.”
